Foundation Stone for St Marys 

 

Davie Carey who was the foreman brickie whilst building St Mary's church in Duntocher around 1953-1954, he is the person at the back of the photo wearing a woolen scarf showing the inscribed foundation stone which can be seen today built into the wall in the sanctuary of the church behind the pulpit.

this photo should be of intrest to Hubert Carey in Las Vegas who subscribes to the welcome to clydebank website since Davie Carey was his cousin, son of his uncle Harry Carey and brother of Harry and Phyllis, my wife.
